Challenges and solutions involved with installing a DMX512 controlled RGBW lighting system to illuminate a WWII Battleship, now a museum and North Carolina’s most popular tourist attraction. The client wanted to illuminate the battleship with color-changing lighting. Challenges included:
- Finding luminaire mounting locations to avoid contact with visitors and to minimize the obvious problem of 21st century LED luminaires on a ship built in 1940.
- How to run and layout DMX512 data runs.
- How to physically get cables from “here to there;” the entire ship is solid steel.
