Mark Loeffler, IES Emeritus, IALD, LEED Fellow is a lighting and sustainable design consultant based in Connecticut. He retired from consulting in 2021, but remains professionally active as a co-founder and curator of Light Justice, advocating for lighting’s role in social equity and environmental justice. During his 33-year career as an architectural lighting designer (following 12 years in theatrical lighting design), Mark helped to start the sustainability committees for IALD and IES, as well as to develop the first IES Sustainable Lighting Design guide, along with frequent speaking, teaching, and writing.
