Daniel Salinas is in his 48th year in the electrical industry. His design and project management experience spans both commercial and residential projects, specializing in tackling complicated installations with new techniques of constructability and ease of maintenance. Commercial lighting control design has been his passion, where working with integrated technology is a requirement. He has received two Illuminating Engineering Society, International Awards of Merit for his work on special project applications and has been honored to receive both the IES Distinguished Service Award (DSA) and IES Marks Award. He has held leadership positions within The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) culminating in that of IES President for 2013-2014 and continues to serve as a member of various IES committees and task groups including that of Vice Chair for the LP-8 Commissioning Process for Lighting and Lighting Controls Committee, and co-Chair of the IES Membership Committee. Daniel is a voting member of the ASHRAE SSPC100 Energy and Emissions Building Performance Standard for Existing Buildings Committee. He is a past Chair of the Certification Renewal Committee for the NCQLP, was on the Board of Directors for the National Lighting Controls Training Program and co-Chair of the Codes and Standards Working Group for the California Energy Alliance (CEA). Daniel and his wife Melonie live in Snohomish, Washington.
