James Donson

James Donson is the lead Energy Engineer at the National Laboratory of the Rockies. James is responsible for energy code review, commissioning support, and infrastructure planning and analysis for cutting edge research growth. James co-leads an On-going Commissioning (OCx) program for 1.4 million square feet of laboratory and office space, including HVAC, process, and lighting systems. Prior to relocating to Colorado, James spent 14 years as an energy and lighting efficiency consultant in Oakland, California where he managed a portfolio of municipal, university, and laboratory clients and taught classes on lighting and lighting controls. James is a Professional Mechanical Engineer in the state of Colorado and is Lighting Certified from the NCQLP and certified as a Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) with ASRHAE and a Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) with the BCxA.
