DESCRIPTION:Bright Minds\, New Faces brings together emerging professionals from across the DC Metro lighting community for an evening of genuine connections.\n  \nJoin us for our first Emerging Professionals event of 2026! Free for all to attend.\n  \n\n\n\n\nOpen Social + Happy Hour + Optional Games with drinks and finger food\n\n\n\n5:30-6:00 pm | Arrival + Warm Welcome\n\nName Tag with a fun prompt\nFind someone who works in a different part of the industry.\n\n6:15-7:00 pm | Speed Friending\n\nGuided prompts at each station are entirely optional. Something to begin a fruitful discussion – don’t feel like you need to rush to go through all the questions. Rabbit trails are encouraged!\n\n\n\n\n6 rounds. You likely will not have this structured time with everyone in the room – that is okay. There will be plenty of time afterward to grab a drink and mingle.\n7 minutes per round. There will be a 1 minute warning (lights will dim down and back up again). When the lights dim down and back up twice\, you will rotate stations.\nEach round will have different prompts\, so you don’t end up saying the same things 6 times.\n\n\n\n\n7:00-8:00 pm | Open Social + Happy Hour\n8:00 pm is not a hard stop. This redesigned course is geared to anyone with an interest in Architectural Lighting\, including Engineers\, Architects\, Interior Designers\, Students\, Lighting Sales\, Facilities Managers\, etc. The five day course provides an introduction to all aspects of the lighting design process. \nThe Fundamentals of Lighting consists of 10 modules. Each module is taught by an experienced professional in the fields of lighting and electrical design. Individuals must attend entire course to receive any of these credits. IES Fundamentals of Lighting is a pass/fail course approved for up to a maximum of 20 IES CEUs\, 20 AIA LUs or 20 USGBC CEUs. \nCertificates of completion will be provided to attendees.
