Less than a mile north of downtown, the Neon Museum’s outdoor exhibition space known as the Boneyard displays signs from hotels and casinos throughout the city’s history. The collection contains more than 200 items, including the neon marquees from long-gone hotels like the Stardust, the Riviera and the Sahara, as well as the neon guitar from the recently leveled Hard Rock Café. Each restored sign is accompanied by a story about its creators, when and where it was made, and the role it played in Las Vegas’s history. Information about general admission, tours, immersive shows and special events can be found at www.neonmuseum.org.
