How They Did It: “Aqua Foro Pool Club” | IES Illumination Award of Merit

September 2, 2024

To create a tranquil space that captures elements of classical architecture and the surrealist art movement, The Lighting Practice made use of unique tools such as wet-listed light fixtures and pool-submersible luminaires to wash the The Aqua Foro Pool Club in Philadelphia in soft, alluring illumination.

How They Did It: “Aqua Foro Pool Club” | IES Illumination Award of Merit

1. Vertical illumination in and around pool structures and landscaping establishes a visual hierarchy, enhancing pool-deck boundaries and creating a peaceful environment.

2. Encapsulated tape light enhances a lily-pad walkway to an in-pool fire pit.

3. Pool submersible lighting fixtures highlight the curves of arched cabanas as soft illumination reflects on the surface of the water.
