Scotty Hutto, Business Development Manager – Public Sector for SESCO Lighting, currently oversees growth efforts for SESCO’s public sector team. This includes both growing business with existing customers, and seeking out opportunities for expansion and growth in the public sector markets.  Hutto most recently served as Senior Vice President for Public Sector at Solais Lighting Group, overseeing Solais’ utility and public sector market lighting efforts, focusing on growth of the EnergyLite brand.  Prior to joining Solais, he enjoyed a 40 year career with Southern Company, leading the Lighting Services businesses at Georgia Power and Gulf Power for over 16 years. Hutto led the startup of multiple Smart Services initiatives and telecommunications colocation efforts and has over 43 years in lighting and energy-related experience, including extensive experience in street and area lighting, networked lighting controls, outdoor surveillance, smart cities, colocation, and energy services contracts. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Mississippi State University.  Mr. Hutto holds Professional Engineering licenses in 4 states and holds both Certified Energy Manager and Certified Energy Auditor designations. He is a member of the Illumination Engineering Society (IES), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), & American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Scotty currently serves on the Executive & Marketing Subcommittees of the IES Street & Area Lighting Committee, where he recently completed a two year stint as Chair.
