Javier Villaseñor

Javier is Mexican, graduated with Honors of Electrical Mechanical Engineering (special in Industrial Engineering) at Universidad La Salle, being the best student of his class (79-84). He has more than 43 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Project Development, Marketing, Sales, and Strategic Planning, and during the last 28 years he has served as General Manager of various national and international companies. Lately he has also been active as independent Consultant in General Management and Business Strategies. Javier has 38 years of experience in lighting, highlighting a solid, dynamic, and brilliant 22-year career at Philips Lighting (5 of them as an expatriate holding the position of CEO & Lighting Manager for Central America and later for Peru). He also worked 4 years at Acuity Brands as VP/GM Mexican Operations, and his experience has been enriched by a solid formation derived from the multiple trainings received on such companies, and his involvement in several projects that detonated major technological changes in the industry. In addition, Javier has collaborated on different committees of specialized organizations in Mexico like ATPAE, IMEI, PAESE, FIDE, CANAME, CONUEE (CONAE), and he also had an active participation with Government Energy Saving Programs such as: ILUMEX (Mexico), CFL’s Project (Costa Rica), CFL’s Plan (Honduras) and ELI Project for CFL’s (Peru). Javier has been IES member since 1993, being part of the Board of Directors of the IES Mexico City Section for several years and he is currently serving as President of the IES Mexico City Section for the period 2021-2023.
