Billy Tubb

Billy Tubb’s professional entertainment career spanned over 6,500 live entertainment productions during more than 32 years. Among the prominent events he managed as a Technical Director were the 2004 Democratic National Convention National Debate, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, The Lion King, Elton John, and Pavarotti in concert. After retiring from the University of New Mexico, he transitioned to a new career, working for a top-tier lighting manufacturer representative agency that covers all of New Mexico, as well as parts of Texas and Colorado. In his new role, he is primarily responsible for architectural lighting controls commissioning, architectural lighting design, and reaching out to various architects. Additionally, he has owned and operated a theatrical consulting business for over 25 years. He possesses extensive experience with modern and conventional stage lighting and network systems, auditorium and facility lighting low voltage control systems, conventional and computerized audio systems, stage communications systems, pyrotechnic systems, stage lift systems, stage rigging systems, acoustic and shell systems, theater safety, stage fog and special effects systems, theatrical facilities and production system design, touring systems design, facility management, and labor and apprenticeship programs.
