New York, NY, May 31, 2017 — At the end of July, Bruce Sohl, IES Controller for nearly 27 years, will be retiring. Bruce came to IES with experience in public accounting specializing in small business, which turned out to benefit IES tremendously. Bruce’s primary task was to create financial stability to allow for the future success of the IES which he accomplished over the past 27 years and much more.
Bruce had a great appreciation for the membership of IES and saw the importance of protecting the Society’s assets for the benefit of our members. Bruce acted financially prudent and always had the best interest of the membership and the Society at large in his role as Controller.
Over the years many volunteers with our Board, sections, and committees relied on Bruce for his fiscal knowledge and adherence to best practices. For IES staff he was readily available to discuss anything and offered sound advice.
IES is in a strong financial position due to Bruce’s hard work and we thank him for his more than two decades of service and wish him a long and happy retirement. On behalf of the membership, Board, IES staff, and countless volunteers, thank you for all you’ve done for our Society.
Best,
Tim Licitra
