After analyzing feedback from members, partners and customers, the TALQ Consortium has released a new version of 2.6.0 of the Smart City Protocol, a global interface standard for smart-city device networks. The new version adapts to changing markets with a new Cabinet Control profile to improve interoperability between systems as well as an extension of active periods, along with updated commands for color lights to align with DALI-2 hardware standard definitions. The extension from “Control Service” to the “Data Collection Service” enables users to limit data recording to specific times based on elements such as sensor outputs and more, while the new color commands help to ensure seamless integration with control of not just color temperature but actual color of light.
Chairman of the TALQ Certification Workgroup Jose Sanchis said, “The structure and aim of the TALQ Protocol remains unchanged, of course. But we are proud to continuously add innovative solutions that address the demands of operators in the smart city and smart street lighting environment.”
